Windflower is made up of 240 units that were built from 1995 to 1998 by William Lyon Homes. It has three floor plans; each includes a fire place, two to three baths, and one or two-car garages. There is also a theater complex.

The public schools in this area are highly rated and include Don Juan Avila Elementary School, Don Juan Avila Middle School, and Aliso Niguel High School. Streets that run through this neighborhood include Liana, Fushcia, Camomile, Kalmia, Sunflower, Tamarace, Tulip, and White Rose Way.
Windflower is minutes away from freeway access and entertainment. Golfers can enjoy the 18-hole championship course at the Aliso Viejo Country Club. And families enjoy going to the local aquatic center which is open all year long and offers lessons. This area has many wilderness trails for hiking, biking, and walking as well as community parks.
The City of Aliso Viejo is well known for its clean air, low crime, and beach lifestyle. Builders came to this area in the early 1990s and it was incorporated in 2000. It is also the home of the Orange County Gladiators which is a part of the American Basketball Association (ABA).
